Maureen uses the Community Transport Service to help her get out and about from her home in Balga. She says this service gives her freedom to do her shopping and peace of mind, knowing she can get where she needs to go, in comfort and on time.
Stephen worked until 2009 before suffering with disability. Part of his rehabilitation plan was to get out more often and be more active. He attends the Stirling Community Men’s Shed where he enjoys talking, seeing what people are making, and using the computers. His favourite things about this service are the opportunities to meet people, that everyone gets on, and that they all have a good chat.
Gloria lives in Scarborough. Aged 81, she says although she has some physical challenges, she’s very content with life. Gloria has been using the Community Care Service for 14 years to help her keep her home clean and tidy. She says she’s met some wonderful people through the years and enjoys spending the first 15 minutes of her weekly visit having a good chat with her home support team member.
